Trusted Coatings is a well-established, fast-growing Central Ohio painting company specializing in commercial and residential painting including various ancillary specialty services such as custom homes, cabinet refinishing, floor coatings, electrostatics & custom murals. Trusted seeks an experienced contract Painter. The ideal candidate will be an organized and detail-oriented individual who meets the needs of the customers, businesses, and fellow employees. Responsibilities:
- Executes on-site job requirements
- Products, buildings, and applications differ case by case; the candidate must be able to choose best solutions for each application as it pertains to safety, functionality and performance working within the guidelines of the manufacturer’s installation instructions
- Answers customers’ questions to the best of his/her ability
- Cleans up job site at the conclusion of each day, and of course, after each job is completed
- Prepare, set up, and test all painting equipment
- Cleans all paint spraying equipment at completion of each day
- Pulls inventory as needed to complete jobs
- Maintains the vehicle and all tools and equipment
- Prepares various surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, burning, sanding, sandblasting or other means as necessary
- Performs drywall, trim, wall, ceiling, window, and door surface repairs, fills cracks, holes, or joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers to provide proper surface preparation. Removes fixtures, cover plates, knobs, and pictures prior to painting. Evens surfaces using sandpaper, scrapers, brushes, steel wool, or sanding machines
- Can perform Drywall patching
- Prepares & mixes, matches, and blends various paints, enamels, lacquers, varnishes, stains, and special protective coatings to achieve desired color, consistency, and drying properties. Caulks, putties, cements or plasters holes and cracks
- Paints using brush, roller, spray gun or another applicator. Covers surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting
- Determines and clearly identifies proper materials and material quantities for new and existing projects
- Reads work orders or receives instructions from supervisors. Completes assigned projects within designated time periods
- Ensures adequate inventory of products and supplies. Notifies supervisor of required items as needed
- Evaluates customer requests, price projects, troubleshoot customer issues, and presentation of a work order to a customer & collects payments via mobile software provided by the company
Painter Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in surface preparation, painting, dry wall, and general maintenance field is required
- Knowledge of the principles, techniques, equipment, and supplies used in the residential/commercial paint field
- Ability to learn and teach new processes
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, customers, and the general public
- Comfortable working in both inside and outside conditions
- Able to work overtime as needed
- Keeps the work area clean and free of debris
- Able to share photos of previous work
- Has a working smart phone, as it will be needed to receive assignments and submit timecards
- Completes all required paperwork for assigned projects
